2 Ways to Work with Mariah-Jane

 

In Person

We can work in person during a workshop and seminar tour.  In each city I am visiting, I will be available to work in person for privates or semi-privates.  Sessions may be arranged via the studio I am visiting, but also can be arranged individually by simply reaching out personally. 

Online

While in studio may be best for certain types of support, the benefit of online is that it is available at any time regardless of my location or your location. Online privates are great for the Brain Gym, Reflex Integration and Injury Recall Method sessions and coaching, both for dancers and teachers. 

 

In Person

Workshops & Seminars

There are a whole host of workshops and seminars that can be presented for both dancers and dance teachers. Mariah-Jane is also able to tailor to the needs of the students, so please make requests.

Guest Teaching

As part of a workshop series or simply as part of a visit, Mariah-Jane is happy to guest teach a series of classes.  These can be specially organized classes or teaching the regular schedule of classes.  Teachers are welcome to watch these classes and even parents can be invited to observe. This is a great option for coaching pre-exam or pre-performance coupled with in person privates.

Brain Gym

The power of Brain Gym will amaze you.  A one on one session can address any goals you have been striving towards and not yet achieving.  We will dig into the cause of the blocks and then using Brain Gym movements and protocols, break through those blocks and wire your brain for success.

Brain Gym is ideal for managing nerves and anxiety for performing.

Coaching

One on one coaching is powerful as your needs can be specifically addressed.  Coaching can be for dancers who wish support for technique, musicality or artistry.

Coaching for dance teachers can be for technique progressions, imagery creation, development of musicality and artistry and for creation of of a plan to avoid burn-out.

Reflex Integration

If a reflex is retained and still active in your nervous system, it is like trying to move with invisible puppet strings affecting and interfering with your intended movements.   Retrained reflexes will also prevent maturing of your nervous system which is necessary for gaining both strength and elusive core support.

All reflexes are also linked to social-emotional development, so if there are blocks preventing any performance element (such as anxiety) it can be a retained reflex that needs addressing to allow you to happily perform.

Injury Release Method

The body remembers injuries unless it has been cleared from the nervous system.  This is why you may continually keep spraining the same ankle over and over; the tissues may heal but the nervous system is still protecting and interfering with function and sensitivity. 

Clearing even just one injury from the nervous system can help to return the body to its natural and full flexibility.   Once the injury is clear, any technical compensations adopted will be cleared up allowing you to have clean technique you've been working towards.

The Power of a

Brain Gym Session

I was so excited to book a session with Mariah-Jane after attending some of her in person and online workshops that I found so valuable.

After just one private session I've experienced a remarkable shift in the calm and stability I now feel while on stage and high pressure situations.

As a dancer, back bending, telling rights from lefts and navigating stage lights all used to be terribly stressful for me. Mariah-Jane addressed all of these in our single session.  I now find going into the backspace, clarity of direction, and keeping calm in the lights to be not just safe but FUN things to do!

As a teacher, I've been able to stay much calmer and to create a much better classroom experience for my students too.  I notice greater strides in their learning and I have much more energy and focus on my longer days.
